Speaker:
Jessie Anna Boone, Director of Pavement Application at Southeast Cement Promotions Association.

Presentation: Our speaker, Jessie Anna Boone, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Concrete Industry Management from MTSU will share with us on concrete promotion and the marketing aspect of her job, as well as working with training and education with industry. She worked for Lafarge which was one of the largest concrete providers in the world. With knowledge about the construction industry she is able to understand the customer's needs and support their business goals.

As Director of Southeast Cement Promotions Association, representing cement manufactures of the Southeast, formally the Portland Cement Association, part of her job is to educate the Tennessee members and potential members on the benefits of Full Depth Reclamation using Cement, Soil Cement, Cement Treated Base and Roller Compacted Concrete. All of these applications are widely underused. Her upcoming presentation will focus on Full Depth Reclamation.  Full-depth reclamation (FDR) rebuilds worn out asphalt pavements by recycling the existing roadway. The old asphalt and base materials are pulverized, mixed with cement and water, and compacted to produce a strong, durable base for either an asphalt or concrete surface.  She will explain why conserving construction materials through recycling with cement makes smart economic and strategic sense.
