green|spaces has only been able to serve 1000’s of residents since 2007 because of amazing volunteers! As a small non-profit, our goal is to put every dollar donated into projects and volunteers are key to making this happen! Volunteers are needed for a wide variety of projects and events.

Empower Chattanooga Instructor: One of our most popular programs, Empower Chattanooga provide free energy savings education to over 100 low-income residents per month! We provide you with the knowledge and tools to led workshops at community events and at non-profit partner offices! Empower Instructors must attend a “train a trainer” session and shadow one of our Instructors before leading a session. Having basic energy efficiency knowledge and a passion for helping people is desired in Empower Chattanooga Instructors. Please visit the volunteer calendar for dates/times of trainings and sessions!
Event Support: green|spaces annually hosts Eco-Field Day (April 26/27), Chattanooga Green Prix (May 10/11) & MainX24 World Heavyweight Chili Championship (1st Sat. in Dec.). Successful events take lots of hands with everything from registration, team support, logistic assistants and more!
Data Manager: green|spaces is seeking a long-term volunteer to assist in database management. Our simple database tracks all Empower Chattanooga participants, event participants, members and donors. With hundreds of entries a month, we’re seeking a detail oriented volunteer who is willing to help us maintain records. Internships: green|spaces has a long history of working with high schools, colleges and universities to offer internships. Projects have included sustainable business development, environmental policy, marketing and event support and community engagement.
