Candidate Sustainability Plans
With the City of Chattanooga’s Runoff Election Day approaching April 13, green|spaces has worked with mayoral and city council candidates to provide a comprehensive view of how sustainability — in terms of environment, economy, community health, access to resources and more — factors into their campaigns.
The following candidates provided statements of support for Chattanooga’s Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) and, in some cases, provided their own sustainability plan. (Not all candidates responded to our request for feedback.)
Mayoral candidate STATEMENTS AND SUSTAINABILITY plans
Tim Kelly — Sustainability Plan
Tim is fully committed, as mayor, to adopting an integrated community plan using the draft plan green|spaces provided and either building upon or adjusting based on his priorities as mayor. Tim is committed to establishing an ambitious but achievable plan that includes specific implementations from the City government as well as broad community implementations that encompass both sustainability and resiliency. Tim's Sustainability Vision | 2021 policy framework largely aligns with the draft plan and he looks forward to leading the finalization of an integrated community plan as mayor.
Kim White — Sustainability Plan
I deeply appreciate the work that has gone into this draft of the Integrated Community Sustainability Plan. I share the broad goals and commit to fully cooperating as work continues on this very important effort to ensure that Chattanooga is a resilient and sustainable city.
